MRM

MineRP’s Integrated Mineral Resource Management System (MRM) is a software product suite designed specifically for the narrow tabular underground mining industry to provide an integrated business solution for mineral resource management. It focuses on the process of defining, depleting and reconciling ore reserves and resources. This allows for planning, optimisation and control of mining activities.

The business solution main benefits are:

  • Simplifying and integrating business processes within the mining technical environment.
  • Improving production output by implementing proper planning and controlling tools.
  • Providing integrated business plans by integrating with Enterprise Data

MineRP’s MRM suite has modules that are integrated through a common infrastructure, which provides a single point of entry, security, maintenance and basic data sharing.

MRM on SpatialDB

As part of our solutions upgrade roadmap, MineRP is migrating the MRM suite onto SpatialDB. Following a phased approach, MRM modules are currently in various stages of MineRP Exchange Readiness, and will ultimately Run natively on SpatialDB. This allows our MRM clients to continue using their current application set while further benefitting from features such as integrated visualisation and reporting with MineRP SpatialDash.

MRM Modules

Common Components
The Common Components module is where the business maintains all the common information needed by the different modules/applications of the Integrated MRM Solution. Examples include the maintenance of the organisation structure, workplaces, mining calendars, security groups, minerals, exports/imports and basic batch processing

Ore Reserve Module
Employed to classify and manage ore reserves in a 3-D environment. This module assists in managing a mine’s orebody. With MRM, the status of the ore reserves as well as that of the ore resources can be seen at any given time. A snapshot of the orebody can be seen and the details of the transactions on the ore reserve blocks are recorded. An audit trail of all transactions is kept, from the creation of an ore block until the block is depleted. The Dynamic Reporting Module enables the business to create reports according to SAMREC standards.

Histogram Evaluation
This module supports evaluation of mine design, scheduling, survey measurement and ore reserve blocks in terms of grade and channel width against a Kriged grid or Histograms. The histogram evaluation module has the ability to create numerous facies, polygons and to effectively create a geological model. These polygons can then be evaluated statistically. The module also caters for interfacing with different packages which will do the detail evaluation outside the MineRP MRM system (such as specialised geological solutions).

Design and Scheduling with CADSmine
CADSmine is a Microstation based mine design and scheduling solution designed specifically for the underground mining environment. It provides the ability to create 3D mining elements to represent a mining framework for the extraction of an orebody. Mining directions, rates, gradients and element dimensions can be quickly edited and regenerated. The schedule engine has the flexibility to alter mining rates, directions, delays and dependencies against the various designs.
Reports in the form of graphic profiles for various parameters e.g. tonnage, revenue, profit etc. can be generated on the fly.

Production Actuals Module
To record survey measurements by means of normal data input, direct, link with total station and/or with an electronic fieldbook in a 3-D environment. The module’s database is configurable accordingly client needs. The option is available for non- or graphical (3D) data entry. The integrated solution enables business to do electronic ore reserve depletion with user definable approval levels. The data is linked with graphics in a secure database, which allows dynamic reporting. All graphic presentation is viewable in Microstation or Datamine.

Ore Flow Module
The Ore Flow module monitors the flow of ore from the box underground to the plant and reconciles back to the measured results from surveyed shafts contribution to final product at the end of each month. The discrepancy between the delivered tons and the treated tons can be calculated.

Contract Measurables Module
The Contract Measurables module is used to configure contract standards in order to calculate production bonus payments for production labour. The architecture of this module supports the mining bonus process and enables the business to maintain and change bonuses as needed.
The module requires the surveyed results per workplace and the labour resource responsible for the achievement for calculating bonus payments. If the MineRP Production Actuals Module is in use the production information is integrated with the Bonus Module. If not, the Import/Export function of the Common Components Module is available for interfacing with other applications.

Dynamic Reporting Module
In addition to standard operational reports contained in each of the MRM modules, standard reports can be printed by using a simple information-filtering tool or enabling the user to create reports according to business needs. This module operates across the modules available in the Integrated MRM Solution. Not only can a user design his/her own reports, they can also report on information forthcoming from different modules.

PEGS
PEGS is a computerised surveying system designed for underground and open pit mining operations. MineRP Pegs handles the daily calculations performed by the surveyor and stores both the raw data field and processed data in a relational database.

MineOPS
MineOPS is used to plan and control primary core mining activities at workplace level on a daily basis within the framework of the monthly plan. As a daily production management and control system, MineOPS was designed to focus on the short-term business within the mining industry. The focus therefore ranges from the planned daily activities up to a one-month controlling mechanism. The planning parameters are based on the guidelines as set out in the annual plan, broken down in quarterly planning guidelines. The system philosophy is based on the ability to provide production information to all levels of management at the appropriate time to take appropriate actions.
MineOPS operates as a production management information system at business unit (Shaft) level, whilst providing sufficient information at corporate level for the effective management of production issues. This approach ensures that “one version of the truth” is reflected throughout the entire organisation – the only set of information available and applicable to all levels within the organisation.

Sampling
The MRM Sampling module is used to capture and control underground samples with coordinates for each sample. This enables the users to manage the sampling data in a controlled environment and to export data to any evaluation application. The sampling system allows the capturing of sample data from stope or development sampling, and assay results are captured either manually or directly via electronic transfer. Sampling then provides the input for the evaluation module in MRM. This input includes Stope widths and Channel widths as well as Hangingwall, Footwall and Channel grades.
