mineMARKUP

mineMARKUP

mineMARKUP is a complete surveying solution that runs within the mineCAD environment providing real-time information to Surveyors. mineMARKUP covers all facets of surveying, from daily survey pickups to remote cavity monitoring surveys - all covered within one application rather than combining fragmented outputs from other software programs to create a final product.  mineMARKUP alows the surveyor to visually interpret survey data against the mine design right there at the face as well as easily generate or modify layouts from mineCAD.

BENEFITS OF mineMARKUP

  • A total underground surveying solution
  • Flexible enough to work within a traditional underground understation/overstation setting as well as utilizing the resection based on wall mounted prisms
  • Work “Live” in the drawing which decreases the reliance on hard copy prints

Because mineMARKUP typically takes no more than half an hour to survey a development round, miners and surveyors have become enthusiastic supporters of the system.  It does not interrupt their production cycle, and by immediately reconciling actual versus planned development, it helps them reduce rework and overbreak – which translates into bigger production bonuses!

Management also finds value in the system, for the reasons above as well as the quicker availability of more accurate information.  Mining plans can be updated daily if not in real time, and modifications communicated to all relevant parties in a variety of forms, including 3D solid model images.

mineMARKUP Modules

Survey Module
The Survey module includes all of the basic functionality that surveyors need to complete their daily survey tasks. This module allows surveyors to:

  • Setup under station or using resection
  • Add new stations
  • Capture floor and back elevations
  • Establish line and grade
  • Capture tope data which can be instantly compared to design
  • Add smoke marks
  • Update working plans and asbuilts daily

mineMARKUP tracks coordinates in real time – as the laser pointer is moved along a wall, the position marker moves within the drawing on the screen.  Benchmark tracking is similarly performed by shooting a reference point, moving the laser pointer, and then seeing the 2D/3D distance, azimuth and grade from the reference point. Borehole pick-up is a valuable function, and grade plug tracking streamlines one of the more time-consuming surveying tasks.

Markup Module
The Markup module is designed to be used by miners for quick and easy pickup and markup of each development round. Once the instrument is set up the laser indicates where the outline of the face should be traced, and provides locations along the centre lines and grade lines.  The trace points are saved as a polyline in the drawing, enduring that:

  • Line and grade is established on a per round basis
  • There is a tighter adherence to design
  • The miner can instantly compare results to design and easily compensate for any deviation from design
  • The miner has limited dependence on the surveyor
  • There is a daily capture of information from each working heading
  • Data collected by the miner is available to the surveyor/planner

CMS Module
The Void Capture module allows for convenient cavity monitoring of drift openings and stopes using regular survey equipment.

  • Setups can be level or unlevel
  • Bottom sill and top sill scans of stopes are possible by placing the instrument on a boom
  • Uses up to 3 back sights to determine instruments location
  • Define the scan area and shot spacing ensuring that the instrument rotates automatically to scan the area specified
  • Completed 3D scan can be viewed immediately on Tablet PC
  • Scans can be modeled into 3D solids once they have been cleaned up and verified
