Mine2-4D

Read here about Mine2-4D 2012 The new version of Mine2-4D that will set the benchmark for productivity in underground and open pit mine planning tools.

Mine2-4D is MineRP’s premier mine design and planning system.  The Mine2-4D suite forms a fully integrated Mine Planning and Scheduling System that allows engineers to manage the complexity of data from geological, survey, and mine design layouts by producing complete and detailed mine plans and schedules.   Mine2-4D delivers cost and performance improvements through a variety of enhanced and optimised features.
Mine2-4D and EPS produces fully integrated long and short-term mine plans, Gantt schedules linked to 3D animated graphics, and complete reconciliation while interfacing with your mine design. Mine2-4D streamlines the once onerous design to scheduling process whilst providing seamless information transfer between design and schedule allowing for rapid scenario analysis.  This process will be even better in Mine2-4D 2012!

Multiple Mining Methods

Mine2-4D can be applied to both underground and open pit operations across all commodity types and mining methods
Mine2-4D uses design types to model mining excavations and activities; these design types include:

  • Fixed Cross Sections, for example tunnels or room and pillar
  • Outlines, for example slyping of a development heading
  • Complex Solids, for example open stoping

 The Mine2-4D Approach

  • Design

Mine2-4D provides the functionality required to undertake all mine design coupled with the ability to interrogate against block models during the design stage which allows economic criteria to be used in the design of development and production excavations.
  • Assimilate

The developers have implemented a system whereby the long-term mine plan is continuously updated and forms part of the short-term planning activities. As alterations to the short-term plan are made, the long-term plan is continuously adjusted. This function allows users to assess the impact of the changes in the short-term plan over the long-term plan. For mine owners and planners this is the “holy grail” of mine planning.
  • Integrate

Mine2-4D allows the full integration between long- and short-term mine plans. A centralized database allows automatic interrogation of the geological block model and places the required information into a schedule. This eliminates the need for manual data collection and entry, therefore reducing errors.
  • Automate

Mine2-4D maximizes the use of automated processes to eliminate many repetitive tasks normally associated with producing mine plans, allowing more time for scenario analysis and selection of the optimal mine plan.
  • Collaborate

Communication is crucial to implementing the design and scheduling information successfully. Mine2-4D provides many options to present and distribute this information through traditional presentation methods, as well as dynamic rotatable 3D animations. Reports can easily be generated in the form of spreadsheets, animations, Gantt Charts, and network diagrams. Plots can be produced quickly from mineCAD functionality.
  • Reconcile

Mine2-4D has an extensive reconciliation system that facilitates the comparison between planned and actual excavations. A running record of production and development is also maintained.
